Posted - 01/05/2012 : 6:22:53 PM The company I work for is separating from it's parent company. Problem is that the workstations use the same name designation as the parent company ie. 4GBL and 4GBD for laptops and desktops respectively. There is nothing in the workstations names that identify it as belonging to my company. I need to remove the workstations and put them into an OU for my company. How the heck do I do this? I need to have this done quite soon. Any help is appreciated.

Posted - 01/06/2012 : 02:13:59 AM If your company is at set locations there's probably subnet involved. You could move those workstations on the base of what you'd find in dns for those subnets. And.. you could make use of auditing to see weather or not the right company employees logged on. Or maybe the gpo's are different for your workstations
Or check for software that no one else uses but your company is using. Or monitor which workstations go to a company website like a time management company.
And if those conditions are not met the choices are arbitrary, and you could randomly claim a bunch f workstations :)
