So,,, how many cups of coffee and how many trips down the hall flirting with the secretaries does it take before we thinks there is a problem..? Joe,,, I would have paid to watch this video of you. It would be a YouTube classic. <g>

Ha ha well that is a more fun number...
wobble_wobble Posted - 04/15/2009 : 03:18:21 AM
Paul,

there was another 15GB of data in there as well. Deleted it, then realised that oops need a screen dump of this
ptwilliams Posted - 04/14/2009 : 3:57:53 PM
~460MB. That's not even testing FRS!

The last project I was on had a bigger SYSVOL and that was just ADM files.

Mind you on the subject of FSR/DSFR someone create a big .DOC file. Watch it replicate (using perfmon), edit it, and watch it replicate again...

(if you're wondering what I'm on about say hello to w32::ReplaceFile :: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365512(VS.85).aspx)

Lance,

Sorry dude, it was useless, had to delete it. Nice how you had pictures of Bosco naked though, haven't seen those in a while.

And no - no porn that I discovered anyway.

Xenophane Posted - 04/14/2009 : 03:32:06 AM
Damn and I thought that Sysvol was the replacement for BitTorrent or a new version of DC++.
joe_elway Posted - 04/14/2009 : 02:07:58 AM
Dagnammit ... you tell me now that it's not a good place for my bittorrent downloads?

I think this deserves a case of beer in and of itself...

Competion closed, saving money for whiskey in VB.

More 45 minutes for a DC to replicate sysvol.

Not sure on the health check, was too busy picking myself off the floor. But it was replicating.
NSFEddie Posted - 09/19/2008 : 5:10:07 PM
Does the Health Check Audit give everything away?
wobble_wobble Posted - 09/19/2008 : 2:45:49 PM
Hadn't thought of that one either...and no it wasn't that.

Nice one though.

I feel I should have a health warning in here for anyone who views this and is unsure what we are talking about.

Don't use sysvol for anything, no file replication, data storage, or just a cool place to put your password file. Let AD look after sysvol and let it place it's scripts and policies in there.

If you have a system with the above sort of file structure, post up quietly and we'll help you sort through it.

Good lord. That made me queasy just reading the post. Eek.
JSCLMEDAVE Posted - 09/16/2008 : 6:36:30 PM
So,,, how long does 14GB take to replicate to the other 5 DCs..?
mitachu Posted - 09/16/2008 : 6:22:05 PM
Personal photo collection?
wobble_wobble Posted - 09/16/2008 : 3:40:51 PM
All things I'd never considered, but no, no, no, no and no.

Exchange store DB files?
Redirected MyMusic folders of all users?
SQL transaction logs?
