Hi All,

I'm about to deploy Office 2010 to my company and want to add language packs to the deployment. I need beside the US pack the German pack.

I have amended my config.xml as followed:

<!-- <AddLanguage Id="match" ShellTransform="yes"/> <AddLanguage Id="en-us" /> <AddLanguage Id="de-de" /> -->

My understanding is that this line should install both language packs and configure the language pack to be used according the regional settings.

My issue is that when Regional setting is set to German, Office 2010 only install the German language pack.

I believe I have an error in my statement, but I can't figure it out.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Edy

Thank you for your answer.

No, we don't need the proofing tools. We need the full language pack in order that the user can switch interface language as well. As far as I know the language pack also includes the proofing tools.

In the meantime I was able to amend the xml file accordingly to deploy the language packs.

Thanks
Edy

Did you use the the Proofing tools for 2010?
As a dutch company we are installing besides English the languages Dutch, German, French, Spanisch and Italian.
For this we needed to purchaces the Proofing tools.
This also allows you to change the language of Office to any of those languages.

Below you will find my XML which I used to deploy the Proofing tools silently to my PC's

The XML is located in the "proofkit.ww" folder

- <Configuration Product="Proofkit">
- <!-- <Display Level="full" CompletionNotice="yes" SuppressModal="no" AcceptEula="no" />

The numbers correspond with a specific language. Setting the State to local installs the specific language.
