Posted - 09/29/2011 : 07:52:53 AM Hello,
I am using Win7 Ultimate edition, and I encrypted a usb-stick with BitLocker.
I then inserted this stick in a Windows 7 Professional machine, but the option "Automatically unlock this drive on this computer" is grayed out.
I want the stick to unlock automatically on this machine only.
It's crucial I can use this option. Any ideas? |

Thanks Mark for your swift response. I would understand Microsoft that only Ent/Ultimate can encrypt and manage the stick's Bitlocker security.
However I find it strange that a small feature such as auto-unlocking has something to do with the Windows SKU. Isnt this feature made to make it easier for the user ? It has nothing to do with encrypting and configuring BitLocker itself!
This probably means I have to find another means of doing this. |
