I just wanted to post this for everyone's reference. I'm sure many of you have upgraded your GPOs with the new XP,SP2 ADMs and received those "string too long" errors when you edit those GPOs from non-SP2 machines. Microsoft has documented this and is putting the hotfixes on MS download to make it easy to patch. Check out the following KB to get the fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=842933

This problems affects all non-SP2 versions including XP, SP1, Win2k and Win2k3. Fun :-)

Thanks for that link, Darren. I started getting this error the other day and it concerned me that one of my GPO's was hosed.

Just love this bit ...
"To work around this problem, click OK in each error message window"

I do that anyway - it's the "Microsoft" way :}}
