Hi,

On one of my Windows Server 2003 boxes I tried to launch the 'Help and Support' service only to be told the service wasn't running. So I natuarally went to start the service only to find it wasn't even there!

After a bit of reading I found that this problem has been occuring on SBS boxes after installing Windows Server 2003 SP2. My box isn't SBS but IS running SP2. The fix for SBS and non-SBS boxes is this:

1. Open a command prompt.

2. Navigate to %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries

3. Run this command:

start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install

4. Once this command completes [takes about 2 minutes] the Help and Support service should now appear in services.msc

5. Start the Help and Support service

Hope this helps!
