I want to try streaming movies from Netflix on my XBOX 360 console. I understand you must have an XBOX Live account in order to do this. I lost all those free trial ones that I got when I bought the console. By the way, how is the quality of the movies from netflix when you stream them on the Xbox? Can you stream high quality movies or Bluray quality movies? Also, do they have all the latest new movies available to stream as soon as a new movie is released?

If you ask on a gaming forum you can likely find people willing to send you a trial code.

I like Netflix streaming but it's not bluray quality. I think it's 720p but I'm not certain. Before playback begins it determines what quality it can stream first. If there's a poor connection then the quality is degraded. I semi-frequently receive e-mails from Netflix asking how the audio or video quality was for a particular movie or show. I like to think that means they're trying to make things better not to say I'm displeased with it as it is. The streaming content is determined on what Netflix is able to get licensing to. I know they've somewhat recently signed some release deals with studios that should get new content available sooner but I'm not sure of the details. They also license content from Starz. So whatever Starz is showing should also be availble on Netflix.I Don't bother with discs much anymore because of instant streaming.
