I have an exchange server that I manage. The environment uses nested distribution groups. The specific problem I have is that I have several groups that are "internal" only (the check mark for authenticated users only are allowed to send to this group) are nested inside of publicly addressable groups. The problem is that the "rejected" message is getting thrown out to the people that send to that second group.
To summarize.
Group 1 contains users and only accepts mail from authenticated users. Group 2 contains Group 1, but accepts mail from outside of the exchange environment. Group 1 then spits out a message rejected due to security "blah, blah, blah"
In the interim we have removed Group 1 from Group 2 and placed all of Group 1's users into group 2 manually, but this would get difficult to manage long term. Does anybody know of a way to force Group 2 to expand the distribution group so that all of the members (including those that inherited the membership by way of Group 1) can receive the message?
