I got rid of a mailbox database called MBX-DB01 after moving all the active mailbox users to new mailbox database MBX-DB001.
It escaped my mind that there were few disconnected mailboxes sitting under the Disconnected Mailboxes container in ESM 2007. These disconnected mailbox users belonged to MBX-DB01.
Now when I go to Disconnected mailboxes container I don’t see those users, is there a way to bring them back or the all gone?
When you removed database MBX-DB01, it didn't mention anything about existing mailboxes (disconnected in this case)?
Usually with these migrations, there's always something (Public Folder for example), that prevents you from removing the database and sometimes forcing a manual removal in ADSIEdit.
Just thinking about this though, if the content of the disconnected mailboxes was contained in the deleted MDB, then I suppose it's gone.
Unless you restore from a backup somehow?
EDIT - I was thinking about restoring to a RSG (this is/was E2K7 right) but I think the fact the mailboxes were disconnected and not associated with a user could complicate that.
Maybe use a third party tool to extract those mailboxes from a backup of the entire E2K (?) database?
