our network is a 2k8r2 server with mostly win7 clients. we have two mfp's (multi-function printer/fax/scan) machines. all the clients for over a year have had the ability to print to either of them, walk up to the machine and scan a document to email, scan a document to a folder located on a client machine or on the server and print a document to fax from their client machine.
a week ago monday, 5/7/12 microsoft released a slew of updates which all the clients and the server received. since that time, the ability to scan a document to the users folder or to the shared network folder using one of the client computers has ceased and the other mfp takes an excessive amount of time to transmit the document to the selected folder... upwards of 3 minutes for a plain piece of paper with text.
we have spent hours trying to eliminate the cause of this error and the only conclusion we have arrived at is a trust issue has cropped up. the server doles out the dhcp address for these mfp's and there is only one error message being generated and that is on the mfp that will not scan and it says that it is a communication error.
the machine that still scans is a konica bizhub c552ds and the other is a sharp mx-2600n.
