Trying to install Exchange 2010 on Windows 2008R2 DC (DC already promted and running the AD) - A test setup.

I keep getting this in the application log and the during the exchange install it fails on installing HT Server.

Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=3020). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers.

Searched high and low ...just found this link and not asisting me ...

Any ideas?

Thank you

Sunny

Did you uncheck the IPv6 protocol on the NIC properties?

Thanks Jazzy.

Turing the IPV6 ON resolved this issue.

Cool! :)

When you need to disable IPv6, you need to do that with a registry setting. Disabling the protocol on the NIC properties can lead to several issues. For reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852 By the way, in most situations you can leave IPv6 enabled but not configured.
