I'm just playing around with the RC, and noticed something interesting. You can backup all or just some VM's explicitly, using the GUI or the commandline:
WBADMIN START BACKUP -backupTarget:\\server\share -hyperv:vm1,{<GUID>}

That looks like a reversal of an earlier position that DPM is required for hyper-v backup. Good move.
