Problem System: Windows Server Standard 2008 R2 SP1
I do hourly backups onto this member server from 5 shared network drives. Out of the 5, four show a red “X” indicating that it is not connected. One actually says “Disconnected Network Drive (drive letter:). However I can access any part of all the drives with no problem. And backups are being performed on them.
In trying to re-map the 'disconnected' drive, that drive letter is not shown. I have tried ‘net use \delete’ on the drive that says ‘disconnected’, with no success. I get the 'standard'
The network connection could not be found. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2250.
I even went into the registry - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Map Network Drive MRU & HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints2 - to try and get rid of them from there with no luck.
Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get this server to read the drives properly? These drives are on both Windows 2003 Standard SP2 and Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP1 servers and are kept current in updates.
