Like many, we'll soon be replacing our Windows 2003 print server with a Windows 2008 R2 print server. I found lots of info on migrating to a new (ie, different named server). Most involve DNS aliasing, and/or login-scripts to re-point client-side settings.
But is it possible to keep the same server name as the old? As in bringing the new server online with a different name, migrate the printers, down the old server, then rename the new server to the old server name?
