Hello,

What is the best way to set up my protection group(s) for a SQL cluster. Right now we are backing up all our sql dbs in one sql cluster protection group. The protection group has both full and simple dbs. I will want to backup some of dbs transactions logs but not all of them and some will be done in different increments. What is the best way to do this in DPM? If I have to set up protection groups for each different db then do I have to have additional standard and enterprise licenses in DPM or since its from the same cluster but different protection groups I am good with the licensing I have now?

How does dpm back up a sql cluster that contain s both full and simple
databases? Right now we are currently backing up that way. If I need to
back up transaction logs do I need to split up the different databases in
different protection groups one for simple and one for full or will DPM just
skip the databases that are in simple recovery and back up the transactions
logs on only the full models?

The solution to backing up a SQL Cluster remotely requires the following:Remote Agents for each server in the cluster.SQL Agent for each server in the cluster Install the remote agent on to each cluster node, and restart each node.Configure a job for each cluster group presented by the cluster.To illustrate this, let's say we have 2 physical servers: SERVER1 and SERVER2.Both SERVER1 and SERVER2 has got just one local drive letter to be backed up of C:.These servers present 3 virtual nodes, each node being represented as Cluster Group within Cluster Administrator. Let's call these three virtual nodes VIRTUALQUORUM, VIRTUALSQL1 and VIRTUALSQL2.Datman LTD
