Can anyone recommend any SCCM training? Anyone tried the CBTNuggets (http://www.cbtnuggets.com/series?id=421) or Train Signal (http://www.trainsignal.com/System-Center-Configuration-Manager.aspx) video's on SCCM?

Looks like I may be put on the global SCCM team at work. We are moving from using Altiris to SCCM. So I should probably get an idea what I can do with it. The book looks like a great resource, but I was looking for some video based training to get a running start, then start looking at the books and playing around with it. I don't have access to the console yet, so with the CBT, at least I can see what it looks like and how it works.

There are some really good Microsoft Labs to play with. Those are free. Not sure about Train-Signal or the CBTs. Do not have the training resources setup yet.

My coworkers liked the TrainSignal stuff.

I've never looked at it as am basically self-taught and have my Ph.D. from Google University (horrid training budget at my old job)

Trainsignal is great, I agree. You'll also want to jump out to myITforum.com and start participating there. Largest SCCM community anywhere. The site's been supporting SCCM and other System Center products since 1999.

yes, every one of my google searches has at least one link to MyITForum.

Chris Stauffer's and the Number2 blogs are also excellent. Many posts from these are in my favorites

I've use the Train Signal video's before, just wanted to see if anyone has used the SCCM ones. Checking out the http://www.myITforum.com website now. Cool. Thanks.

An Irish cloud MVP (and SCCM wizard) did a series of online events with MSFT Ireland and they've been posted online: http://blogs.technet.com/b/ieitpro/archive/2012/11/23/a-week-of-system-centre-configuration-manager-2012-the-sequel.aspx

It's a massive product. My advice is focus on the core bits (design [CAS is not always required], client deployment, queries/collections) and then go from there depending on what you're trying to do with it. Don't go all big bang - that doesn't end well on something this big. Start with the bits that solve the problem, and go from there.

Another Irish MVP (but in Sweden), Niall Brady (Johan knows him), did some great step-by-step guides on his heavily visited site to get you started. Great for a lab: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4045-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-guides/
