At the moment, I am more impressed with the swift delivery considering snail mail and a 3000 mile journey.

It will be great Mark, thanks again...looking forward to it.

I don't have a connector for my ipod in my car, how did we ever live with the option of just 6 CDs before its invention?

Yeah, it IS sort of astounding that there are modern cars without an "Aux in" miniplug socket.

Yes, its good James. It rained this morning so commute was slow and it cheered me up. Did half an hour of the first CD and then it started skipping.
This is my CD unit in the car, I think it is dirty.
So I just jumped onto the second CD.

Apparently there is a slide deck on the CD or that accompanies it?

I really like the Truman Quote "“GIVE me a one-handed economist,”

Some nice background on "Figures don't lie but liars do figure" here.

I left at the bandwidth part on CD2, where Mark is glowing in the bask of telling everyone they need more bandwidth when going to the cloud.

One of the most important items for the cloud; connectivity, bandwidth and redundancy of that connection.

Yes, some other notable phrases I need to remember: "numerological proctology" (kinda reminds me of certain neo-conservative pols these days who love to jawbone about the deficit ).

I've ordered the R2 series after getting this one earlier this year but haven't had time yet to listen to it.

Mark, would like to chat with you at some point about your brief career as a govt. economist and the SS projections you worked on, however briefly. In contrast to "rosey scenario" I think we are suffering currently from a bout of "the world is going to hell in a handbasket" forecasting because everyone assumes the current bad economic #s are the new "normal".

Slightly off-topic: Mark, can you drop me a line about dates in late April/early May 2012 for Minasi Con 2012 that work for you. I'm going to help out Joe with conf. prep this year (if he'll let me .

Later,

Jim

No problem on the help....I'm stuck in buying house in Ireland hell and all my free time is taken up with deep breathing, calming, yoga and the desire to wring the guddamn necks of so many under employed professionals involved in the simple process of accepting my money!

As soon as I've moved and re-discovered my packed whiskey collection, normal service will resume.

Joe-

No worries, I understand completely.

I don't know how the banks are in Ireland post-financial crisis, but I went through a re-fi on my condo earlier this year and it took 3 months from start to finish to close - mostly because the bank moved at a glacial pace. I can understand the increased paperwork and scrutiny - the thing that made my blood pressure go up was that they'd take 2-3 weeks to respond to any phone call/email - they were otherwise unreachable. The crowning glory was the signing date - the rep was scheduled for a time that was not the time they told me to show up, so I sat around for half an hour trying to get a hold of anyone to see what was going on. I guess I should feel lucky though, plenty of folks out there who want to re-fi who can't, for many reasons - the banks are much more picky these days.

I hope your purchase/sale goes quicker than that. Thing was, when I bought the place in late 2009, we closed in just under 3 weeks. That's the difference between working with a highly motivated mortgage broker and a bank I guess.

Later,

Jim
