Dear all,

I have a curious problem with Windows Server 2008 DNS. I have created static DNS records for my Domain Controllers, but when I check a few weeks later the records are either: a)missing or b)they have turned into Dynamic DNS records (i.e. they have a date/timestamp.)

What I guess is happening is that once the static records are turned into dynamic records they are being scavenged and then deleted!

Does anyone know how/why this is happending? It isn't just the DC static records this happens to either, it happens to member servers too!

Note: All my servers/DC's use static IP addresses.

Any help would be appreciated.

Should not happen unless your settings are extremely aggressive.

Correct. Windows Server 2008, not 2008 R2.

They are set to 7 days, which is the default setting. This should be OK?
