Microsoft has released tablets, well, sort of. They have largely been a failure going back to 2000 and before. The ones I have tried have generally sucked.

Now Microsoft is pinning it's hopes on Windows 8 and Metro. It also may be too late. May be Microsoft will buy RIM and they can have control of the wonderfully bad Playbook.

In the meantime, you can use this on iOS.

I think we are going to laugh at the pad some day like the large desktop Monitor.

For all the noice made about the "Greasy Finger Interface", the sales of stylus for iPads and Slates is doing very well.

We are ALREADY looking for the next "thing". My slate needs MORE interfaces, More memory, More Storage and more means to transfer larger amounts of data.

No.

However, if you've been hiding for the last while ... Windows 8 is touch first and is designed for tablets and slate PCs. OEMs are already producing slate PCs (not to be confused with true tablets as MSFT marketing have been mistakenly doing for the past 2 years) and ARM based tablets are coming with Windows 8 RT general availability (probably October/November). Intel are also working on an Atom based tablet chipset that will run Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro (therefore Metro apps and normal .exe apps). Don't snicker ... Windows 8 in that kind of device (not a PC replacement) will fly along.
