Morning People. As i came for a Routine check to a Customer i noticed his Raid 1 (2 Physical Disks) is Degraded. I used Dell Open Manage Software to Rebuild Raid since Disk 1 was showing Online though Raid 1 was Degraded but the only Available Option was Assign as Global Hot Spare. I read this Article....

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/software/svradmin/5.4/en/omss_ug/html/adtkghs.html

But the English Explanation here confused me. Will Assign Global Hot Spare Command for the Disk wil Make it Part of the Raid 1 Again?

Thanks

Explanation of Hot Spare does not Show as Re-Build Raid again but i looked for it and this Person had a similar situation like me :

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/906/t/19424660.aspx

Since i do have a Backups of Windows and Data. I Choosed the Degraded Disk as Global Hot Spare and now am Watching it Re-Building the Array. Hope it does that. Couldnt they make their Explanation much Easier?

Will Post for Results : And i hope they are Good

Update : Rebuild Shows Healthy Now after Assign Disk as Global Hot Spare.

Thank
