Have a Exec user that uses an Iphone and outlook2003 on her desktop to access mail. Sometimes read reciepts are sent from her account before she actually read the email . Is it possible her phone is causing this behavior. Its intermittent.

Iphone has many issues with email, but this is new to me. Is it possible that someone else has access to her mailbox? If that's a concern, you could condider auditing: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff459237.aspx

That is one concern, she stated that while standing next to her assistant the asisstant sent an email and then got a read reciept shortly after sending while she was still standing at her desk. She had her Iphone but had not read it anywhere. She does not use a reading panein her client. We will look at auditing, and delegates.

Does she have any rules that process the emails in Outlook? They might cause this too. Just a thought.

Check for any delegates in her account.

You can use this with the Exchange Management Shell

Get-Mailbox "NameHere" | Get-MailboxPermission | where {$_.user.tostring() -ne "NT AUTHORITY\SELF" -and $_.IsInherited -eq $false}

To see everything including those that are inherited use this

Get-Mailbox "NameHere" | Get-MailboxPermission
