For those who don't know what a Higgs Boson particle is:

What is the Higgs boson? John Ellis, theoretical physicist:

Everytime I see this topic it reminds me of The Big Bang Theory and after the last post of DennisMCSE the phrase from 'Howard Wolowitz' becomes extra funny: "Your Bosons give me a Hadron..."

Greetsz,
Jeff.

Actually, the only place I hear the Higgs Boson talked about is on the Big Bang Theory. And if it wasn't for the show, I probably wouldn't have posted anything.

I know there is a bunch of fans of TBBT on this forum.

And now it's official.

The measurements were dead on with theory. From TWO sensors.

Maybe we really WILL understand everything some day.

I thought we had the answer already? Was it not 42?

Of course they would, they had to with the cost of the whole thing...Could they now sell the whole unit for scrap so we don't accidentally create a black hole and destroy the earth trying to find the particle that made the Higgs Bosun particle? :)

Now, that's cynical :)

At least it is better than coming back after 18 months of "trying" to say, whoops we've miscalculated by a factor of 1000 we'll need another Billion Joules of energy to reach the point of indication.
