Okay ... it's Aug 15. **WHEN** on Aug 15 do we think the RTM download will be available? My index finger is getting sore from hitting reload on the TechNet and MSDN Subscriber downloads pages...

I was able to request a Windows 8 Key. Server 2012 isn't listed yet.

Yeah ... and trying to download the ISOs for Windows 8 is currently an error-fest. It's almost like the servers are really, really busy or something. Weird.

Now for Server 2012 ... um ... when is that actually due? Some quick googling is showing "not today" as the most likely answer, with "Sept 4" being the next most likely.

So ... back to waiting ... nuts.

TechNetUK confirmed for me: at/after launch for WS2012 on TechNet/MSDN. Dreadful comms by the Server marketing group. We're still wondering when VL with SA customers get WS2012.

I should have looked harder. My kms and mak keys were actually available for both 8 and 2012 yesterday on vlsc. They only show up under the actual agreement, not in the main dl/key area for some reason...

Downloaded Windows 8 last night and installed it in a VM on my Macbook Pro. Still getting used to the keyboard mapping between Mac's and Windows, but the download went fairly quickly and the install was less than 10 minutes from start to login.

As of right now, both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 are available from the Volumne Licensing Service Center

Also not available to partners through MPN, as it was supposed to be yesterday (original announcement).

Windows 8, but not WS2012, is available to silver/gold partners through the distribution site.

I don't get why WS2012 is not available on TechNet or MSDN. Really looking forward to upgrade my servers.

Smells like markteting to me, Jetze. When there's a dumb or illogical decision, they're ususally responsible. It's not available to partners until Sept 4th at the earliest either.

Aidan, do you know when SC 2012 sp1 is due? I had read they would be releasing it today along with server 2012 - we could use DPM sp1 as it would be nice to be able to back up 2012 file servers :-)
