I am installing a new node in a Hyperv Cluster connected to a Equalogic group consisting of 1 x PS4000 and 1 x PS6000. I have attached the new node to the storage and can see the Volumes, currently in use as Cluster Shared Volumes in the hyper-v cluster.

Prior to joining the node to the cluster I then install HIT tools and after the reboot one of the CSV’s appear on the new unjoined node as RAW with a drive letter and gives off multiple errors in Event Viewer. The other disk remains unaffected.

Event ID 57, source NTFS: "The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur."
Event ID 55, source NTFS: "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume E:."

Has anyone ever see this before?

Hi. We've had exactly the same "problem" (with different SAN) and after arguing with Microsoft for about two months, they've settled on that this is normal behavior (which we've never seen before though) and we should go ahead and proceed with adding the node (despite how it sees the CSVs). Well, we did and it worked fine (bit to my surprise).
So I'd say go ahead, but as usually be sure to have the CSV backed up just in case.

Just be sure to Offline the disk on the node you're adding.

Thanks Rambler, very strange one indeed! Not sure I would call it "normal behaviour".

Will update if I find out anything else
